“Mama’s Teaching Angels How To Sing”
Captures Dove Award For
Bluegrass Recorded Song Of The Year

Israel McGuire

Almost four years after her home-going, Dottie Rambo was honored with a Dove award for her composition “Mama’s Teaching Angels How To Sing” as recorded by The Isaacs on their project Naturally.

Israel and Destiny McGuire

Her grandchildren, Israel and Destiny McGuire, were at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, and received this award on her behalf. Israel shared how much GrandDot loved and admired The Isaacs.

Yolanda Adams, Crystal Lewis, Angie Stone, and Karen Peck

The 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards opened with a powerhouse performance of another one of Dottie’s Dove award-winning hits “I Go To The Rock” as sung by the late Whitney Houston. Yolanda Adams, Crystal Lewis, Angie Stone, and Karen Peck (pictured left to right) did an outstanding job paying tribute to Whitney!

Rambo McGuire (pictured left to right: Dony, Reba, Destiny, and Israel) was also honored with Bluegrass Album Of The Year for Grassroots Rambos. This album is first in a series Remembering The Rambos celebrating the sounds of The Rambos and the timeless songs of Dottie Rambo.
